Standing seam roof panels are the premium choice for clean, modern, weather-tight metal roofing. Instead of exposed screws, the panels interlock with raised, crimped seams that are mechanically seamed or snapped together, so there are no through-roof fasteners to leak or back out over time. This concealed-fix design lets a standing seam roof expand and contract freely with temperature, making it ideal for long runs, low slopes, and architectural facades where appearance and long-term performance both matter.
Vikkins manufactures standing seam roof panels in PPGI, Galvalume, and aluminium, in a wide range of colours and profile heights to suit your span, slope, and climate. The system pairs naturally with our wall systems and the wider range of steel building products, all engineered to recognised standards such as the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
From commercial buildings and sports halls to airports, schools, and architectural homes, it delivers a sleek finish with excellent water-tightness on low pitches. Concealed clips allow integration with solar mounting, skylights, and daylighting without piercing the weatherline. Our multilingual team in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese helps you specify the right profile, prepare fabrication drawings, and arrange shipping and installation worldwide — see completed work in our projects portfolio.
The main difference is how the panels are fixed. A screw-down roof fastens straight through the sheet into the purlin, which is fast and economical but leaves fasteners exposed to weather and thermal movement. A concealed-fix system hides its fixings under interlocking seams, eliminating the most common leak points and giving a cleaner appearance. For low slopes, long panel runs, and projects where longevity and looks justify the investment, the concealed-fix approach is usually the better long-term choice.
What slope does a standing seam roof need? It performs on very low pitches, often down to 0.5:12, because the concealed seams keep water out where screw-down profiles would leak. What materials are available? PPGI for colour, Galvalume for corrosion resistance, and aluminium for coastal sites. Can solar panels be fitted? Yes — clamps grip the seams without drilling, so the weatherline stays intact. How long does it last? With quality coatings and correct detailing, a standing seam roof can outlast screw-down roofing by years.
